Genetic tests require a blood sample, and I'm squeamish about that.

Truth:

No blood test is required. Our test is based on the DNA found in saliva.

In 2003, Revolutionary Health Services became the first concierge medical practice established in Bucks County and only the second in the state of Pennsylvania. That year, forward thinkers within the University of Pennsylvania recognized our broken medical system had damaged the doctor/patient relationship. Many patients desired a return to the “old fashioned” level of service and care, so PENN leadership asked Charles Whitney, M.D. to pilot the first of several “concierge” practices they planned to establish, called PENNCare Plus. After a business plan change within the PENN organization, Dr. Whitney assumed ownership of the practice on July 1, 2004 and changed the name to Revolutionary Health Services.

Dr. Whitney graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1990 and completed his family practice residency at the David Grant United States Air Force Medical Center. He is double Board-Certified in the specialties of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. His experience includes seven years as an Air Force physician and six years in the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Dr. Whitney is a known leader in the industry:

  • He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Private Physicians (AAPP), the National organization of concierge practices.
  • He is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board of GenesysMD Electronic Medical records.
  • He volunteers his time as a physician at the BCHIP Adult Health Clinic in Bensalem. BCHIP is a medical clinic sponsored by St. Mary’s Medical Center that is free to residents of Bucks County who do not qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, but cannot afford health insurance.
  • He also has enjoyed his time as a coach for youth baseball, softball, and basketball in the New Hope/Solebury community.

Patients of Revolutionary Health Services come from numerous local communities, with some traveling from as far as 90 minutes away, to receive personalized care with timely and extended appointments and no waiting. They have access to Dr. Whitney 24 x7 via email and cell phone which, in many instances, allows him to evaluate the patient without requiring an office visit.

Each of Dr. Whitney’s patients receives a comprehensive "executive style" wellness evaluation which includes electronic body fat analysis and a detailed cardiac risk factor analysis with fractionated cholesterol testing.  Enhanced benefits include mole mapping and dermoscopy, a 50 percent discount on Navigenics personal genetic testing, direct access to your electronic medical records through a secure online patient portal, and a National Care Network of physicians who are available should care be needed while traveling.

The Revolutionary Health Services membership practice is limited to 400 patients versus a traditional medical practice which averages over 2,200 patients per physician. By limiting the patient panel to about 20 percent of a traditional practice physician, Dr. Whitney has the time necessary to invest in the prevention, wellness and treatment of each patient’s health.
