Dr. Liesa Blond Harte specializes in helping patients live and benefit from healthier and happier lifestyles. As founder of Elite Care by Dr. Liesa, she has the opportunity to practice personalized, direct primary care in Austin, Texas, fulfilling a life-long medical practice ambition.
Since she first graduated from medical school in 1992, Dr. Blond Harte has been interested in the prevention of disease and dysfunction, which affect us all progressively more as we grow older. She has seen first-hand that modifying disease risk factors before illness ensues is far more effective than disease treatment in maintaining a high quality of life.
A native of North Mississippi, Dr. Blond Harte graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi at age 18, and went on to be the youngest C.P.A. at the international accounting firm where she took her first job. She decided soon after beginning her accounting degree that she would prefer to impact people's health more than their finances. She went to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Medical School, where she stayed for internship and residency in Family Practice. After that, she was a board-certified Family Practice physician in private practice in San Antonio for six years.
Always the curious adventurer, Dr. Blond Harte then moved with her children to the South of France and enjoyed a unique perspective of medical care in Europe. She returned to medical practice in Texas after about six years in France, and has incorporated what she considers the best aspects of European primary care medical practice into her Austin practice. She is currently undergoing the certification process for Functional Medicine, in addition to maintaining her board certification in Family Medicine.
