Dr. Richard Abrams is the founder and medical director of the Rose Center for Preventive Medicine in Denver, Colorado. Patients who participate in the Rose prevention program undergo a comprehensive examination, laboratory evaluation including advanced lipid studies, coronary artery calcium scoring, carotid intima media thickness, abdominal ultrasound and in-depth counseling. Participants are also encouraged to perform the Navigenics Health Compass as an integral part of their assessment and health planning.
Dr. Abrams also serves on the clinical faculty of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Abrams’ professional interests include healthcare information technology. He is the co-founder and chief medical officer for RMD Networks, Inc. — an online collaborative care network. Publications include 5 books and numerous articles on medical complications during pregnancy. His book, “Will It Hurt the Baby,” was featured on the NBC Today Show, ABC Good Morning America, and CBS Early Show.
