Deborrah Hennerich, M.S., R.N., CGC

Debbie Hennerich’s professional training and experience span the fields of education, nursing and genetic counseling. She completed a bachelor’s degree along with a teacher training program at the University of Michigan, received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Wayne State University, and earned a Master of Science in biophysics and genetics from the University of Colorado.

In the clinical setting, Debbie has worked as a registered nurse caring for people with complex medical conditions. Moving from traditional clinical practice to nurse consulting, she worked with patients, physicians and corporate clients in the occupational health arena. Her involvement in nursing education encompassed classroom and clinical instruction, as well as coordination of certified nurse aide programming for high school students and adults.

As a board-certified Genetic Counselor, she has provided genetic testing coordination and education services for laboratory clients. She has counseled patients via the telephone, covering topics from general genetics to specific medical conditions such as celiac disease. Her research activities have included coordination of testing for several fragile X syndrome studies.
