Meagan Krasner, M.S., CGC

Meagan Krasner is a board-certified Genetic Counselor whose experience and expertise span clinical patient care, genetic research, public health, and peer and consumer education and wellness.

She has counseled patients in prenatal, pediatric, adult and cancer genetic clinics at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She has researched the genetics of breast and ovarian cancer and lipid metabolism and published numerous articles and papers on these and other topics in her field. She has extensive experience as a presenter helping to educate physicians and other health professionals, consumers, and students about the field of genetics. 

As a consultant to the Rhode Island Department of Public Health, Meagan coordinated both its Genetics Advisory Committee and its annual Genetics and Public Health conferences. During her tenure, conference topics included diabetes, cancer genetics, and mental health genetics. Additionally, she conducted an internal survey of the Department’s programs to identify genetic-related content and recommend additions necessary for compliance with the Genetics Plan for the state of Rhode Island. Meagan consulted, as well, with the New England Regional Genetics Group (NERGG), supervising the creation of a regional genetic services resource and finalizing a presentation to promote the use of family history in the primary care setting.

Meagan earned her Bachelor of Science in biology and her master's degree in genetic counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She is licensed by the State of Massachusetts.

In addition to genetic counseling, Meagan is also certified by the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and is the mother of three children.
